Tool data

Every tool on this site (diff checker, hash generator, UUID generator, JSON/YAML/Markdown/SQL formatters, regex tester, and any others) runs entirely in your browser using JavaScript. Text you type or paste into a tool is processed locally on your device and is never transmitted to, or stored on, our servers — there is no backend for tool input to pass through in the first place.

Information collected automatically

Like most websites, our hosting provider's servers automatically log standard technical information for every visit — IP address, browser type, referring page, and timestamps — for security and reliability purposes. We also use aggregate web analytics (see below). None of this is linked to what you enter into a tool, since that data never leaves your browser.

Cookies and advertising

This site may display ads served by Google AdSense. Google and its partners may use cookies, including the DoubleClick cookie, to serve ads based on your visits to this and other sites. You can opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google's Ads Settings.

Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a user's prior visits to this website or other websites. For more information on how Google uses data, see How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services.

Analytics

We may use standard web analytics (such as Google Analytics) to understand aggregate traffic patterns — for example, which pages are visited and roughly how many visitors we get. This data is anonymized/aggregated and is not linked to the content you enter into any tool.

Third-party links

Ads and occasional outbound links on this site may lead to third-party websites. We aren't responsible for the content or privacy practices of those sites, and encourage you to review their own policies before sharing information with them.

Children's privacy

ToolStash is a general-audience developer utility site and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Your choices

You can clear cookies, block third-party cookies, or use your browser's tracking-protection features at any time through your browser settings — the tools themselves will keep working normally, since they don't depend on cookies or accounts.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy occasionally, for example when we add a new analytics or advertising provider. The "Last updated" date above reflects the most recent revision.
