Turn spreadsheet data into a Markdown table
Markdown tables are fiddly to type: every row needs pipes and the header needs a separator line. This converter builds the table for you from CSV and pads every column so the source is neatly aligned and easy to edit later — ready for a GitHub README, a pull request description, Notion, Obsidian or any docs site.
Cells copied straight from Excel or Google Sheets are tab-separated, and that works too: commas, semicolons, tabs and pipes are detected automatically. Pipe characters inside a cell are escaped so they do not break the table.

- Can I paste directly from Excel?
- Yes. Select the cells in Excel or Google Sheets, copy, and paste here. The tab-separated data is detected automatically.
- How do I right-align or center columns?
- Choose Right or Center in the Alignment option. The separator row gets the matching colons (---: or :---:), which GitHub and most Markdown renderers support.
- What about line breaks inside a cell?
- Markdown table cells cannot span lines, so line breaks inside a quoted CSV value are converted to <br>, which GitHub renders as a line break.
- Is my data uploaded?
- No. The conversion runs entirely in your browser.
